The stamp shows rough & egg shape cut Agate. It is a variety of quartz chalcedony in which successive layers differ in color and translucency due to presence of trace impurities. It occurs in every conceivable color possible with band-like stripes.

The stamps on the envelope depicts different Austrailian gemstones. There is also a cover picture that shows mining equipments in the background and it is signed by the designer of the stamps and cover, J. Mason.
