The stamp shows rough & oval cut Chrysoprase. It is a variety of quartz chalcedony and the apple-green color is imparted by traces of Nickle. It occurs in shades of greens and has typical tendency to lose color in sunlight and when heated.

VARIATION DESCRIPTION
|
The stamps on the envelope depicts different Austrailian gemstones. There is also a cover picture that shows mining equipments in the background and it is signed by the designer of the stamps and cover, J. Mason.
The post mark cancellation is done by Philatelic Bureau, Melbourne.
